Get an induction range

By Fabrice Florin, Green Change

Recently, we replaced our gas stove with a full induction range, and installed this GE Profile 30″ Slide-In Range, a powerful and sleek appliance that  comes with five induction burners and a self-cleaning convection oven with airfrying capabilities.
Watch this video to learn more. We’ve fallen in love with this new appliance and haven’t missed our gas stove one bit. Induction cooktops use electromagnetism to directly heat your cookware, which is not only faster and more precise than gas but also safer since there’s no open flame, and no harmful emissions. What’s not to like?
The environmental benefits are a huge plus. Switching to this electric appliance helped us reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, cut down on emissions as well as utility costs, and contribute to a more sustainable future. And we now qualify for rebates from several local and state agencies!
Switching to an induction range can make a big difference in helping the planet, and the process is easier than you might think. Installing it was simple. Though we did need to bring in an electrician to add a 240V power outlet and a plumber to cap the old gas line – both were quick and hassle-free tasks.
So, if you’re looking to green up your home, this could be a great step for you!Learn more about induction cooking from sources like Electrify Now, Energy Sage and Rewiring America – as well as this Green Change community tip about portable induction cooktops.
