Join a micro-community garden

By Wendy Tobiasson

Team up with your neighbors, join or start a micro-community garden, and grow your own food. A group of 3-8 families can help share the work and benefits. Your garden thrives with shared effort, reducing individual workload while building stronger community connections—and together, you’re contributing to a more sustainable, eco-friendly food system.

The Community Garden Team at UC Cooperative Extension and the Master Gardeners are promoting a program called “Grow An Extra Row” encouraging gardeners to donate extra produce to those in need. Join a micro-garden and create a more resilient food system in your community!
