Serve as a poll worker
By Anne-Christine Strugnell, Green Change
Poll workers play a vital role in keeping polls open on election days … which means that shortages of poll workers can significantly impair access to voting.
An estimated 1 million temporary workers are needed each election, and election experts say it’s always a scramble to find enough people, reports CNN about our growing poll worker shortage.
Consider signing up as a poll worker. You will get trained and paid to do this important work.
A number of organizations are helping citizens like you become the next generation of poll workers, such as Power the Polls, the National Association of Secretaries of State, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission or Vet the Vote.
Just go to their websites, pick an organization, and complete their simple application form.
