Stop, Drop & Roll
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
Stop, Drop & Roll is a fun, interactive game that uses a bean bag toss to highlight the balance between climate change prevention and adaptation. Players will navigate the risks of climate change, learning how missed opportunities lead to greater challenges in the future. Can you prevent the hazards?
How the game works:
Objective: Land bean bags in six target zones while preventing hazards that could disrupt future play.
Gameplay: Players toss bean bags into target zones representing proactive climate actions. Missing a target creates a hazard, jeopardizing the next round. Players can remove a hazard by sacrificing a toss, balancing risk and strategy.
Message: Each missed toss symbolizes missed actions that worsen the climate crisis. Players must decide between prevention (hitting targets) or adaptation (fixing hazards), underscoring the importance of early action.
How to play:
-
Toss bean bags: Players aim for six target zones, each representing positive environmental actions.
-
Miss a toss? Create a hazard: Missing a target leads to the creation of a hazard, impacting future play.
-
Eliminate hazards: Players can remove a hazard, but at the cost of a toss, illustrating the balance between immediate prevention and long-term adaptation.
Why play?
Stop, Drop & Roll teaches the balance between mitigating climate risks and adapting to a changing world, showing the importance of proactive environmental choices.
Learn: Discover the root causes of ecological overshoot and how missed opportunities today impact the future.
Act: Understand the connection between mitigation (prevention) and adaptation (response) in fighting climate change.
Inspire: See how making proactive choices can reduce hazards and make future challenges easier to overcome.
