Use the bus

If the location you’re walking to is farther than a mile or you’re short on time, take the bus! Taking the bus is a far more accessible, stress-free mode of transportation than the average person may think. Most bus lines use the Clipper card, which you can upload funds to through an app and use a physical card or Apple Pay.

Not only does taking the bus reduce your carbon footprint by cutting down on individual car trips, but it also helps alleviate traffic congestion. Public transportation systems are designed to carry multiple passengers at once, meaning fewer vehicles on the road and a smoother commute for everyone. Plus, many buses now run on clean energy or hybrid systems, making them an even greener option.

In addition to being eco-friendly, taking the bus can be a surprisingly convenient choice. With frequent stops throughout most cities, you can usually find a bus route that fits your schedule. Modern buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and even USB chargers, making the journey more comfortable and productive. So the next time you’re contemplating whether to drive, consider hopping on the bus instead—you might be pleasantly surprised at how easy and enjoyable it can be.
